Webasto Recalls Sun Roofs Equipped on Hollandia Vehicles

Posted on March 30, 2012

Webasto Product North America Inc. is recalling some of their Hollandia passenger vehicles due to a defect detected in the sunroof supplied by Restyling Concepts.  The specific vehicles in question are Hollandia 600, 700, and TVS 900.  Five units are affected by this particular recall.

The problem that has been brought to light involves gradual de-bonding of the sunroof glass from its metal frame, leading to the potential danger of falling glass and associated injuries to passengers and /or passing vehicles.

There are a number of ways for a user to tell if their vehicle is facing this danger.  Excessive vibration, the sound of wind filtering through the sunroof, water leaking in, or obvious corrosion are all signs that the glass is separating from the frame.

The manufacturer will directly notify affected owners.  Webasto has in fact received from Restyling Concepts a list of those vehicles that have the defect, and there is a website that consumers can check to make sure their vehicle is not listed.

As a personal injury lawyer in San Bernardino, I know how important it is that this type of information get out to the public.  A five unit recall might not seem like much, but most people would change their tune if they were the ones with the affected vehicle.  I hope as a San Bernardino car accident attorney that this notice is spread to the right people.
