York International Corp Reissues Gas Furnace Recall

According to news sources, a recall has been issued for about 223,600 units of Coleman Evcon and Red T Gas Furnaces after the company received reports regarding the furnace potentially overheating, which could result in the exposure of open flames.

The company, York International Corp, announced the recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission due to the heat-exchanger cracking as a result of overheating, causing flames to be exposed which can in turn lead to a possible fire. The company has already received about 393 reports of such overheating taking place.

The product was previously recalled on November 2004.

There have been no injuries reported to date.
