SolarBlend Roof Tiles Recalled Due to Fire Hazards

According to news sources, a recall has been issued for SolarBlend Roof Tiles after it was discovered that they posed a fire hazard due to the faulty connectors between the tiles potentially becoming loose.

The recall was announced in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and reportedly affects about 300 installations. The recalled solar roof tiles have the model numbers STP050D-5/ZCB, STP050D-5/ZCF, and STP050D-5/ZCG.There has been one reported fire due to the recalled roof tiles becoming loose, although no injuries were reported in that incident.

Those with the solar roof tile installations should turn them off immediately and contact the company at to schedule a repair if necessary, free of charge. The company is also reportedly currently to be in the process of contacting consumers directly.
