Recall: Grand Strand Chicken Salad Sandwiches

Posted on February 8, 2012

According to news sources, a recall has been issued for Grand Strand Sandwich company Chicken Salad Sandwiches due to the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination of the hard cooked eggs ingredient used in the sandwiches.

The company announced the recall of the product after it was discovered that the sandwich contained hard cooked eggs which were supplied by Michael Foods. Michael Foods is currently involved in a recall of the egg product, thus prompting the recall of its sandwich product. The recalled products have UPC codes 067068101056, 067068101056, 067068171059, 067068121050. Although it is unknown if the eggs were used in the sandwich products, the company has taken the step out of an abundance of caution.

There have been no injuries reported to date associated with the consumption of the recalled product.

Consumers should stop using the recalled sandwich products immediately.
