Rayovac NI-CD Cordless Tool Replacement Battery Packs Recalled

According to news sources, about 111,800 units of the Rayovac NI-CD Cordless Tool Replacement Battery Packs have been recalled after it was found that they can explode unexpectedly, thereby posing serious injury risks to consumers.

The company, BatteriesPlus LLC, announced the recall in cooperation with The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after it received reports that the replacement battery packs exploded unexpectedly. The recalled battery packs are RAYOVAC branded and have a part number starting with CTL. The battery packs have a retail price of about $60.

There have been no injuries reported from the use of the recalled product although five reports regarding exploding batteries were received by the company.

Consumers with the recalled product should stop using it immediately and contact the company at (877) 856-3232 for additional information.
