Pittsfield Police Department Awarded $7,500 Grant

Posted on December 27, 2011

According to news sources, a grant aimed at increasing safety on the roadway has been awarded to the Pittsfield Police Department to help them in their ongoing effort to maintain enforcement of crosswalk laws as well other safety measures.

The $7,500 safety  grant was awarded to the department by The Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security. The stated goal of the grant is to educate motorists, bicyclists as well as pedestrians on how to share the road with one another. Also part of the grant are funds specifically designed to increase enforcement of crosswalk laws to protect both motorists and pedestrians alike.

The latest grant being released to the department is only part of an ongoing, $159,000 effort being awarded to ensure increased public safety.

As a personal injury lawyer Los Angeles, I appreciate all efforts being made to increase safety awareness and enforcing safety laws among motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists. Hopefully this ongoing safety campaign will yield tangible and concrete results and improve the safety of our roadways. As a Los Angeles car accident attorney, I hope that supplying this information will assist those wanting to find newer and better ways to stay safe.
