Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan Recalled Due To Faulty Wheel Studs

Posted on December 9, 2011

According to news sources, a recall has been issued that could affect about 128,616 Mercury Milan and Ford Fusion vehicles which may be equipped with faulty wheel studs that could potentially lead to the separation of the wheels from the vehicle and increase the risk of collision as a result.

The company, Ford, has issued the recall in cooperation with The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after it was found that the vehicles may have wheel studs that could fracture and potentially result in collision. The recalled vehicles have 17-inch steel wheels installed that were built in April 2009 as well as from December 2009 to November 2010.

Consumers with the recalled vehicles should expect notification from Ford starting on January 24 to bring in their vehicles to their local dealer for a free replacement of the faulty parts. Consumers should also contact the company at 888-436-7332 for any additional information.
