Posted on December 20, 2011

According to news sources, a recall has been issued for about 21,600 Honda Goldwing motorcycles after it was found that the aftermarket Kuryakyn floorboards installed on them posed a potential injury or collision hazard. The hazard arises from the possibility of the floorboards breaking off or cracking.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the faulty floorboards were installed on Honda Goldwing motorcycles with model years from 2001 through 2011. The floor boards can cause potential injury to the rider or collision because of cracking or breaking off while the motorcycle is in motion. Consumers can will also find a part number 607005 for the floorboards.

Consumers with the recalled motorcycles can expect to be notified by Kuryakyn beginning January. The company will reportedly replace the faulty part free of charge. Consumers who want additional information regarding the recalled product should contact the company at 715-247-5008.
