According to news sources, the Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to take certain weight-loss products known as HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, otherwise marketed as “homeopathic”. The FDA has reportedly already issued warning letters to seven companies selling the illegal drugs since they make unsupported medical claims that are not approved by the FDA.
The FDA also claims that the there is no evidence to support the claims that HCG increases weight-lost in any way, while criticizing the potentially dangerous diets that the companies selling the product advocate.

The FDA is advising consumers with the products to stop taking them immediately,not to follow their diet instructions and to contact the FDA at 800-FDA-1088 to report any adverse health effects that may arise from taking the product.
