Recall: See’s Candy Almond Clusters Due To Undeclared Allergen

Posted on December 8, 2011

According to news sources, about 3,600 boxes of Almost Clusters have been recalled since they may contain undeclared peanuts, posing a significant risk of severe or life-threatening allergy reactions for people with a particular allergic sensitivity towards peanuts.

The company, See’s Candies, Inc, has announced the voluntary recall of its 8 ounce Almond Clusters after it was found to contain peanuts, an undeclared ingredient in the product. The recalled peanuts are distributed to about 22 states across the country through See’s Holiday Gift Centers and other licensee locations. The affected products have a code of SF 088/12 which can be found at the back of the box.

The individual recalled boxes have a label that reads “See’s Candies Almond Clusters, 8 oz.”

Consumers with the product should stop using it immediately and return it to the point of purchase.

As a Los Angeles product liability lawyer, I’ve seen recalls of this kind in the past and know the severity of the hazards they entail.
