Recall: Uncle Ben’s Garden Vegetable Rice Due To Undeclared Allergen

According to news sources, a recall of Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice Garden Vegetable involving two date codes of the product was announced after it was discovered that the packaged products included an undeclared milk allergen.

The voluntary recall by Mars Food US was announced after it was found that one of the ingredient suppliers for the company included an undeclared milk ingredient in the recalled packages. Those with allergies or severe sensitivity towards milk based products run the risk of serious or even life threatening reactions if they consume the product. The recalled products have a UPC code 54800 and 40778 and a Best By date of 08/12.

There have been no reported illnesses to date.
