Honda Expands Recall Due To Faulty Airbags

Posted on December 2, 2011

According to news sources, a previous Honda recall was expanded to include about 273,000 vehicles additional vehicles after it was found that their airbags deployed too forcefully, resulting in potential injury of fatality as a result.

The vehicle models included in the new recall are 2001 to 2003 Odyssey and the 2003 Pilot. The recall issued for the mentioned vehicle models is in addition to previous models recalled by the company. The faulty airbag inflator will be replaced by Honda. The airbag inflators in the recalled vehicle models deploy with excessive pressure, which in turn could cause it to rupture.

Honda will reportedly begin notifying consumers in late December. Consumers can contact the company at 800-999-1009 in late December to determine if their vehicles require repair.
