Stuffed Olives With Almonds may be Contaminated, Recall Issued

Posted on November 4, 2011

The Food and Drug Administration along with the distributer Pure Italian, LLC and manufacturer Bio Gaudiano announced a recall of the Bio Gaudiano Organic Olives Stuffed with Almonds.

According to the report, there’s a chance the products sold in packages of different sizes have been contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium may cause severe illnesses that are known to be life threatening. After two adults were hospitalized in Finland, it was discovered they had botulism. The men had allegedly consumed the Bio Gaudiano Stuffed Olives prior to the hospitalization.

Consumers in the United States are warned not to use the product regardless of its look or smell. Botulism is a fatal type of food poisoning and the symptoms consist of double-vision, dizziness, trouble speaking, breathing or swallowing and general weakness. Readers who have presented these symptoms and who might have consumed this product should look for a doctor right away.

At a moment like this, a personal injury lawyer could be of great assistance to the two men involved in this terrible food poisoning incident.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I urge you to contact the distributer or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
