Distracted Driving Ordinance Approved

Posted on November 8, 2011

According to the local news, the City Commission from the Helena City has approved a unanimous amended draft of the much-expected Distracted Driving Ordinance.

In less than 30 days, it will be entirely illegal to drive and talk on a cell phone or use any other mobile gadget or device however, according to the recent draft, you will still be abiding by the law if you’re using a completely hands-free device like a speaker phone connection or even a voice activation technology.

This is just one more milestone conquered in the battle against the highly dangerous issue we all have with distracted driving. Many personal injury cases are related to the distracted driving of others and most of those cases have been linked to texting or even talking over the phone while driving.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I hope the residents of Helena City will abide by the new law as should all drivers nationwide. Distracted driving has claimed the lives of many; don’t let it happen to you or any loved one but if a reckless driver threatens your life, don’t hesitate to call a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.

Talking to a professional in a timely manner will help you to get your life back on track faster as well.
