Contact Lenses From The Avaira Line Are Recalled Worldwide

Posted on November 17, 2011

According to various news outlets, the company CooperVision has announced a recall of contact lenses from the Avaira Line. This worldwide recall is being expanded due to the fact the company has stated quality requirements haven’t been met at the manufacturing of the doomed item.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the company CooperVision, there was a high level of silicone oil residue present in the contact lenses that shouldn’t be there.

Claims from the company express their concern with the consumers and hope that all owners of the Avaira Sphere contact lenses will respond to the recall in a timely manner. The article has reported that the company launched a website for the recall items so users can enter the lot number of their products in the website to check if what they’ve purchased is being recalled.

The FDA is still asking lenses wearers who might have had any health issues linked to the use of the the Avaira Line to contact their offices to report the injuries.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I understand that not all companies act as responsibly as CooperVision has acted. Whenever you or a loved one finds a health issue directly link to the use of a certain brand or product, contact a personal injury lawyer to provide professional assistance and answers to your questions.
