BMW issues a Recall for 32,000 vehicles

Posted on November 1, 2011

As reported by various news sources, BMW has issued a recall for over 32,000 vehicles due an alleged issue related the water pumps in their models from 2008 through 2011.  The problem was reported to happen because the circuit board feeding the auxiliary water pump can overheat. That issue may lead to the smoldering of the pump and might even set the vehicle on fire if the issue isn’t addressed in a timely manner.

Consumer reports show that the safety recall from BMW is due to begin now, in November. The company is to notify all BMW owners so dealerships can replace the broken piece in the vehicles to be recalled. Free of charge. The car-maker company has also stated that if there are any doubts regarding the recall or if your vehicle is one of the models that should be taken to a dealer, contact them at 800-525-7417.

As a Los Angeles personal injury attorney, I urge consumers to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline in case you’re the owner of one of these recalled BMW models. Remember to always contact a product liability lawyer if ever faced by a similar situation regarding a product you own presenting health-threatening problems so your case can be handled by true professionals.
