Evergreen Enterprises Recalls Gel Fuel

Posted on October 25, 2011

Evergreen Enterprises, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has announced a voluntary recall of their pourable gel fuel due to a fire and burn hazard, according to recent news sources.

The product is called Fireside Gel Fuel Bottles and about 23,400 units are affected by this recall. This recall follows a string of recalls of similar products, after many complaints were filed. No injuries have been reported to the manufacturer of this particular brand at this time. However, the gel fuel has proven to be a danger when it splatters.

The product comes in plastic bottles in the 30 ounce size. The bottles were sold in packs of 12. Model numbers 5G001 and 5G002 are affected, with UPC numbers 746851581199 and 746851581205, respectively. The product comes with or without citronella. The bottles were sold through independent retailers from December 2010 to September 2011 and retailed for between about $9.99 and $11.99.

As a Los Angeles wrongful death attorney, I hope that consumers will return this dangerous product. If you or someone you care about has been injured by a defective product, it’s in your best interest to contact a product defect lawyer as soon as possible. You may be entitled to compensation for the pain and suffering you endured.
