Allergy Alert Prompts DoubleTree Cookie Recall

Posted on September 6, 2011

The Christie Cookie Company, a DoubleTree Hotel gift tin provider, has announced a recall of several products due to failure to disclose ingredients on their packaging.

The allergy alert includes cookies that may contain eggs, soy lecithin, wheat and milk. The specific products include:

Item # 1035 DoubleTree 6 (13.5 oz) Cookie Gift Tin.
Item # 10352 DoubleTree Anniversary Special containing two 6 Cookie Gift Tins (27 oz.).
Item # 1037 DoubleTree 12 (27 oz.) Cookie Gift Tin.
Item # 1038 DoubleTree 15 (33.75 oz.) Cookie Gift Tin.
Item # 1039 DoubleTree 24 (54 oz.) Cookie Gift Tin.

The above products were distributed nationwide at DoubleTree hotels and sold by direct mail. The metal tins contain 6-24 cookies.

No illnesses have yet been reported as a result of consuming one of these products, but the company has warned that those who are sensitive to these products can have an allergic reaction of a life-threatening magnitude.

As a Los Angeles personal injury attorney, consumer health is something that I am very conscious of and I know that even with tough rules and regulations imposed on manufacturers, mistakes can still be made. I encourage anyone who is experiencing an allergic reaction to seek immediate medical attention. The product liability lawyers at our law firm sincerely hope that no one has been sickened by consuming the recalled cookies.
