Milk Allergy Alert: Quaker Recalls Snack Bars

Posted on September 6, 2011

Quaker Oats Company, a division of PepsiCo Inc., has announced a voluntary recalled of their Quaker Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars due to an allergy concern.

The “may contain milk” was accidentally left off of the packaging, according to news reports. The product contains an undeclared milk allergen.

The company has warned that people with a milk product allergy may find the effects of eating the Quaker Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars life-threatening. Currently, only one consumer has reported an allergic reaction.

If you have a milk allergy and have purchased this product, you can return it to your store of purchase for a full refund. For any further questions, please contact Quaker Oats.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I know that there many rules and regulations that most food and product manufacturers must abide by. Even so, mistakes can and will be made. As a product liability lawyer, I hope that you or your loved ones will not be affected by this oversight. If you or anyone you know has been affected by a milk allergen, we encourage them to seek medical attention right away so things do not get any worse.
