CleanFuel USA Issues School Bus Part Recall

Posted on September 6, 2011

CleanFUEL USA, a national supplier of alternative fuel infrastructure, has announced a recall regarding a potentially faulty product they use on school buses, according to news sources.

The product subject to recall is the fuel hose fitting used on Blue Bired Propane Vision school buses. Apparently, the hose fittings can separate from the fuel line, which could lead to the release of a small amount of propane fuel. While other safety devices are in place to prevent fuel leakage, the loose fitting could lead to a vehicle stall. No injuries have been reported as a result of this product, but CleanFUEL USA has taken a “proactive” stance in investigating the issue. The supplier has been notified and acknowledges that the potential safety hazard is in relation to the faulty part. The parts will be replaced at no charge.
