In a news release Thursday, Unilever United States, Inc. announced that, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, it is voluntarily recalling a limited number of mislabeled Popsicle brand ice pops.
The recalled 24-count paperboard boxes are for Sugar Free Orange, Cherry and Grape flavored ice snacks; however the boxes mistakenly contain Popsicle brand Sugar Free Healthy Bunch Fudgsicle and Creamsicle ice pops. Milk, which is a known allergen, is not listed as an ingredient on the boxes. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk can experience a severe, possibly life-threatening, allergic reaction if they consume milk. No cases of illness have been reported.
Individually wrapped Fudgesicle and Creamsicle ice pops may be contained within the recalled boxes. The Fudgesicle and Creamsicle logos appear on the wrappers. The boxes have a UPC code of 7756702295 and date codes of OCT0312GCD, OCT0412GCD, OCT0512GCD, OCT0612GCD and OCT0712GCD.
Anyone who has purchased the affected products are encouraged to cease using the products immediately, keep the outer box and contact a customer service hotline to receive a replacement coupon.
The products subject to recall were distributed in 18 states. None of the affected boxes were shipped outside of the U.S.
