Ly v. City of Los Angeles

Claim for personal injuries sustained by a pedestrian hit by a DASH bus while standing on a curb. The plaintiff suffered a serious traumatic brain injury.


Alarcon v. City of Los Angeles

Claim for catastrophic personal injuries suffered by an unarmed man who was shot in the back by an LAPD officer while handcuffed and lying face down.


Velasco v. Americanos USA, LLC and Greyhound Lines, Inc.

Personal injury case on behalf of a woman and her husband who were seriously injured while passengers on a bus returning to El Monte, California from Mexico where they were visiting a sick family member. The bus hit a parked truck and rolled over resulting in Ms. Velasco losing her right arm and ear, among other injuries.


Tam v. East West Insurance Services

Professional negligence case against an insurance broker for its failure to ensure that a family’s umbrella policy included coverage for underinsured/uninsured drivers despite specific requests. A family member’s leg was amputated as a result of being hit by an underinsured/uninsured driver.


Herman v. Republic Services, Inc.

Personal injury case on behalf of a woman who suffered a severe brain injury after an universal joint attached to the garbage truck driving in front of the car in which she was a passenger fell off of the truck, crashed through the car window and violently struck her in the head.


Minors v. County Of San Bernardino

Wrongful death case on behalf of four children whose mother was killed when her car was rear-ended by a San Bernardino Sheriff, propelling her vehicle into oncoming traffic where it was struck head on. One of the children was also a passenger in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.


Doe v. County of Los Angeles

Civil rights action brought by the parents of a minor who was raped by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy.


Shively v. Mason Electric Co. et al

Personal injury and wrongful death case involving two national guardsmen, one who was seriously injured and another that was killed when the Apache Longbow helicopter they landed after the completion of a routine training flight came apart on the runway when the helicopter’s mast support base assembly failed. Defendants also include Boeing Company and McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Co., among others.


DeCoronado v. Cohen Trucking and State of California

Personal injury and wrongful death case involving a mother of two who was killed when her car was hit by the trailer of a semi truck which had detached from the truck after the asphalt underneath it gave way causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The woman’s 16-year-old daughter,a passenger in the vehicle, also sustained serious injuries in the accident.


Webb v. Pfizer, Inc.

Wrongful death case involving a woman who was killed while out for a morning walk when

she was struck by a car driven by a distracted Pfizer employee.


Lim v. Continental Tire and Ford Motor Co.

Wrongful death case involving a woman who was killed when the right rear General Grabber

tire on her Ford Explorer sustained a tread-belt separation, resulting in the vehicle rolling over

and the roof crushing.


McAtee v. Schwan’s Home Service Inc. et al.:

Personal injury lawsuit brought by firefighter who was riding his motorcycle through an intersection when a large commercial truck failed to yield the right of way and crashed into the plaintiff causing severe and permanent orthopedic injuries.


Nguyen v. Sacramento Regional Transit:

Personal injury case involving a woman who was struck by a Sacramento Regional Transit bus while she was crossing an intersection in the middle of the crosswalk. Her leg was amputated above the knee.


Francisco v. Alameda Contra-Costa Transit:

Personal injury action involving a severe spinal fracture caused by a bus driver speeding over a speed bump causing passengers to fly off their seats.


Pacheco v. Redwood Transportation:

Wrongful death action involving a 24 year old man who was hit head on by a fuel tanker in Sonoma county when the fuel tanker lost control and crossed over the double yellow line striking the young man’s vehicle.


Reglan

The firm is representing multiple plaintiffs who have been diagnosed with the devastating neurological disease called Tardive Dyskinesia after taking Reglan, a drug generally used to treat heartburn.  The drug manufacturer failed to properly warn of this risks.


Rosen v. The Regents of the University of California

December 8, 2010 – Panish Shea & Boyle LLP represents a UCLA student who was brutally attacked by another student while in class.


DePuy Hip Replacement Recall

Panish Shea & Boyle LLP has been retained to prosecute claims against DePuy for individuals throughout the country who have been injured because of the failure of ASR hip replacements.


Heinemann v. Napa Home and Garden

Wrongful death case involving an 80-year-old woman who was burned in a flash fire involving a Firepot and “pourable eco-gel fuel”.


Castanon v Maersk Equipment Service Company, Inc.

Wrongful death case involving an 18-wheeler truck traveling which overturned onto the victim’s vehicle.


Cortez v. LACMTA

Bus accident case against the LACMTA. The bus ran a red light and violently collided with the plaintiff who traveling by motorcycle causing severe and permanent injuries.


Demar v. General Motors Company

Product defect case against General Motors. Plaintiff suffered cervical spine injuries

rendering him a quadriplegic when the compartment of Chevrolet was crushed following a rollover accident.


Jun v Chaffey Joint Union High School District

Wrongful death case involving a 15-year-old student who was struck and killed by a vehicle at an unmarked crosswalk.


Kephardt v County of San Bernardino

Wrongful death case involving excessive force by police officers who used multiple tasers on a man without justification resulting in his death.


Minor v. Napa Home and Garden, Inc. et al.

Personal injury case for burns incurred by a 9-year-old girl who was severely burned when exposed to defective gel burner products while visiting a friend’s house.


Madura v. Lopez

Wrongful death case on behalf of a woman whose parents, brother and niece were killed when the car they were driving was hit by a tractor-trailer.


Plaintiffs v. The Bank Of New York Trust Company

Wrongful death and personal injury action on behalf of ten plaintiffs resulting from a fire caused by faulty wiring. The property owner failed to maintain an active fire suppression system or alarm system which would have prevented the three deaths and numerous injuries.


Ortega v. Original Mike’s Enterprises

Personal injury case against a restaurant that allowed individuals to remain on the premises despite causing a fight earlier in the evening. Those individuals later were involved in a shooting in the restaurant that left plaintiff a paraplegic.


Rosa v. Nissan

Auto product liability case where the vehicle that four people were traveling in experienced tread separation, rolled over, and failed to properly protect the four passengers, one of whom died after living months as a quadriplegic and three of whom sustained catastrophic injuries.


Sanchez-Graves v. California State University, Northridge

Personal injury case involving a California State University employee whose attempt at preparing a meal in Joshua Tree National Park ended in a fireball that engulfed a student who suffered serious second and third degree burns.
