Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP attorney Robert Glassman will be a featured speaker at the 2017 National Crime Victim Bar Association (NCVBA) National Conference, “Civil Actions for Criminal Acts.” The annual conference will be held in Portland, Oregon from December 5 through December 7, 2017 and provides essential, cutting-edge information on current legal subjects, as well as offers important resources and litigation strategies that attorneys need to best represent victims of crime.
Mr. Glassman is scheduled to present “Claiming PTSD Damages at Trial” on Wednesday, December 6 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. The forty-five minute presentation will focus on the challenges surrounding a plaintiff’s Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) claim in tort litigation and the role evidence, including expert witness testimony, plays to prove a plaintiff’s PTSD at trial.
Founded in 1999, the NCVBA is an affiliate and program of the National Center for Victims of Crime and is the nation’s first professional association of attorneys and expert witnesses dedicated to helping victims seek justice through the civil system. The NCVBA provides technical support to attorneys representing crime victims in civil actions, refers crime victims to lawyers in their local area, and works to increase general awareness about the availability of civil remedies for victims of crime.
The “Civil Actions for Criminal Acts” conference is expected to bring together up to 1,000 victim advocates, civil attorneys, criminal justice professionals, and law enforcement officers to share their knowledge and experience across disciplines.
