Brian Panish Named Top 100 Lawyer by Daily Journal

Posted on September 10, 2015

Brian Panish was recognized as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California for 2015 by the Daily Journal, California’s leading legal newspaper. Panish has received the honor numerous times in the past.

The Daily Journal profile on Panish highlights his recent cases involving the protection owed by universities to their students. In Rosen v. Regents of University of California, Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP represents a UCLA sophomore who was brutally attacked by a fellow student who slashed her across the throat and stabbed her multiple times with a knife during a chemistry lab. Prior to the attack, her assailant’s troubled and disordered behavior had been the subject of numerous communications among UCLA personnel but the school failed to take any steps to protect Ms. Rosen or remove Thompson from the school. In another case, Agu v. Regents of University of California, Panish represents the family of a UC Berkeley football player who died during a pre-season conditioning drill that was too extreme for a player with known sickle cell trait.

Earlier this year, Panish was named one of the Top 25 Plaintiff Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal.  Other recent honors include 2016 Best Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year in the area of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, 2015 Best Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year in the area of Product Liability Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and 2014 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Consumer Attorney of California.
