Brian Panish Speaks On Handling High Profile Cases for LACBA

Posted on July 24, 2015

Brian Panish was one of four panelists who spoke last night about handling high profile cases. The event, sponsored by the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Barristers section, was held at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Marty Singer of Lavely & Singer, Eriq Gardner of the Hollywood Reporter, and Mary Eckhardt Hearn, the Director of Public Information for the Los Angeles County Superior Courts, also participated in the panel discussion.  A cocktail reception followed the all-star panel’s presentation.

The panel, moderated by Barristers President and Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP attorney Robert Glassman, was asked a variety of questions about steps attorneys can take to publicize a case, minimize negative publicity, work with the courts while handling high profile cases, and best practices when responding to press inquiries.

Marty Singer spoke about some of the techniques he uses to stop high profile cases from ever being filed and to respond to press inquiries once one has been. Eriq Gardner provided a unique, media perspective on high profile cases, including how he goes about investigating filed cases and how to deal with the press. Brian Panish gave suggestions on the best ways to publicize cases that are of interest to the public. Mary Eckhardt Hearn gave valuable feedback about the court’s role in managing high profile cases, including disseminating information about court filings and handling the media during high profile trials.

Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP was one of the sponsors of the event.
