Peterbilt and Kenworth Chassis Recalled Over Entrapment Issue

Posted on February 10, 2014

Peterbilt 579, Peterbilt 567, and Kenworth T680 chassis of the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled by PACCAR because of a potential safety issue associated with the door latch assemblies from Inteva.  There are two issues that could present:  someone on the outside could open an unlocked door, or someone inside may be unable to open a door that has been locked.  The latter situation could prove dangerous if someone needs to get out of the vehicle quickly in a crash or some other type of emergency.  Once the recall starts by month’s end, owners should hear from PACCAR.  They can then seek new door assemblies from dealers at no cost.
