4,565 Aliner Travel Trailers Recalled Due To Door Fastening Risk

Posted on September 16, 2013

Aliner travel trailers of the 2006 through 2013 model years are being recalled by Columbia Northwest due to a potential injury risk associated with being unable to exit the vehicles.  4,565 trailers could be affected by an issue wherein the deadbolt can be jammed due to a certain method with which the key is taken from the door lock.  This could trap an individual inside the trailer, and the only way they may potentially be able to get out of the vehicle at that time would be to activate the emergency exit.  The recall should start in November, when owners will hear from Columbia.  The cylinders affected by the safety issue will be inspected and replaced by Fastec at no cost to owners.
