Amport Milk Chocolate Raisins Recalled Over Undeclared Allergen Hazard

Posted on August 29, 2013

The Minneapolis, Minnesota-based American Importing Company has announced the recall of Amport Milk Chocolate Raisins due to concerns about a potential label mixup.  There is a chance that packages from lot 078X344 contain Milk Chocolate Peanuts, and as a result, persons allergic to nuts would not necessarily be warned of their presence as an ingredient.  This creates an undeclared allergen hazard.  No instances of someone suffering a reaction have been reported at the moment.  The affected lot was made available to various stores in the Midwest, West, and Mid-Atlantic areas of the country.  A refund can be gained by those persons who bring their products back to the store they bought them from.
