Woodstock Pomegranate Kernels Recalled Due to Hepatitis A Risk

Posted on June 27, 2013

Woodstock Frozen Organic Pomegranate Kernels are being recalled by the Gresham, Oregon-based Scenic Fruit Company.  There is apparently a possibility that 5,091 cases of the product could have sustained a Hepatitis A contamination.  The Food and Drug Administration has been in the midst of a probe attempting to determine where an outbreak of the illness began, and their efforts led them to these products.  However, it should be noted that no one has reported becoming sick in conjunction with these particular items at this time, and the company notes that testing has also not revealed any contamination.  Nevertheless, owners of the eight ounce pouches available in California and a handful of other states are being told to speak with a doctor if they’ve eaten one of these products.
