715,000 Votive Candles Recalled By Swan Creek Due to Burn Risk

Posted on June 27, 2013

The Swanton, Ohio-based Swan Creek Candle Company has announced the recall of votive candles available without any type of packaging or container.  715,000 candles in total are thought to be affected by the recall, with each being sold at various candle retailers across the country between January and November of last year.  The flame that burns on these candles can increase to a potentially unsafe size, a condition that has already been reported 89 times.  Although there have yet to be reported instances of a fire breaking out, four people have detailed the incursion of a minor burn.  Instead of being lit, the candles should be brought to the place of purchase for a refund.
