Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP attorney Spencer Lucas has been recognized by The Recorder legal publication as one of California’s “50 Lawyers on the Fast Track.

The award is given to attorneys with 10 or fewer years of practice whose “early accomplishments indicate they will be tomorrow’s top lawyers and leaders” and who “stood out among their peers based on their career achievements and leadership roles within their practice, organization or the larger community.”

During his 8½-year career, Spencer has achieved an impressive track record of success. His significant verdicts include, among others, a $20 million verdict for a woman who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a big-rig truck which left the scene of the accident; a $14.46 million verdict in favor of three young boys whose parents were killed after a tire failure caused their vehicle to roll; a $21 million verdict for an Iraq war veteran who suffered a brain injury after being rear-ended by a commercial vehicle at high speed; and a $14 million verdict for a man who suffered serious spinal injuries after an intoxicated crane operator dropped a container onto the cab of his truck. Mr. Lucas was also lead trial counsel in the matter of Haskell v. Farmers Insurance in which he won a $8.65 million arbitration award for his client after Farmers refused to adequately compensate the plaintiff under his uninsured motorist policy. The settlement offer prior to the award was $300,000.

In 2011, Mr. Lucas was honored by the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) as a finalist for California Trial Lawyer of the Year in recognition of his achievements in the courtroom. He also is recognized annually as a “Rising Star” by the Super Lawyers® publication. In addition to his work as a trial lawyer, Mr. Lucas serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities which funds many local charity groups focusing on education, children, and the homeless.
