Drowning Risk Prompts Buy Buy Baby to Recall 34,000 Bath Seats

Posted on June 19, 2013

Around 34,000 infant bath seats under the Idea Baby brand are being recalled by Buy Buy Baby because they fail to meet benchmarks laid out by the federal government regarding stability.  The items are intended for kids between the ages of five and ten months and were imported into the country by the Union, New Jersey-based Liberty Procurement.  The potential instability of these seats could lead to tipping that causes the child to be submerged in the water, a condition that creates a drowning hazard.  Owners are being asked to cease usage and bring the products back to the Buy Buy Baby or Bed Bath & Beyond from which they were purchased.  The items, which were available this past September and April, have not led to any reported injuries at this time.
