Failure Risk Leads Federal Corporation to Recall 8,513 Couragia Tires

Posted on April 15, 2013

The threat of a potential tire failure has prompted Federal Corporation to announce the recall of Couragia A/T tires that are P265/75RI6 116S in size.  8,513 tires are affected by the recall, which was initiated once it was discovered that the tires may potentially fail to meet the benchmarks set forth by the Federal Standard regarding pneumatic radial tires.  Shoulder chunking is a possibility if the tires get hot enough, and the condition could cause the tires themselves to fail.  A crash then becomes a distinct possibility.  The recall should start by the end of this month, at which point owners should hear from Federal about how to obtain a free tire replacement service.
