Minnesota Teens Tasked With Creating Seatbelt and Texting PSAs

Posted on October 15, 2012

High school students throughout the state of Minnesota are being asked to make public service announcements about distracted driving and seatbelt use. Finalists will be awarded cash prizes and have their commercial air on MTV next year. This is in response to a glut of fatalities among teenagers operating automobiles.  A member of the state’s Department of Public Safety says that traffic collisions are the leading cause of teen fatalities.  It’s likely that distracted driving and a lack of seatbelt usage are largely to blame.
