Lakewood, Ohio Councilman Seeks to Strengthen Texting Ban

One councilman wants to make enforcing Ohio’s current statewide ban on texting while driving a priority in Lakewood. While the state treats texting behind the wheel as a secondary offense— meaning enforcement can only happen when a driver is stopped for other violations— the councilman seeks to make it a primary violation in Lakewood.  The issue will be debated soon.
