Particulate Threat Prompts Bedford Labs to Recall Vecuronium Bromide

By PSBLawAdm1n on July 3, 2012

Bedford Laboratories is issuing a voluntary recall on a batch of vecuronium bromide. Lot 2067134 was discovered during a post-release inspection to contain a possibly unsafe amount of particulate matter, which can have adverse and possibly life-threatening effects on the cardiovascular system of those injected with it. Vercuronium bromide is used as an adjunct for anesthesia for intubation, and general skeletal-muscular relaxation. So far no reports have come in of any injuries sustained by the faulty batch and those which have been found have already been taken out of use.
