Recall: Nissan 2012 Altima and Vera Vehicles Due to Air Bag Issues

Posted on February 21, 2012

According to news sources, a recall has been recently issued for Nissan 2012 Altima and Versa cars due to air bag problems affecting the vehicle models.

The recall was announced by Nissan North America in cooperation with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) after it was discovered that the incorrect mixture of propellants was used in the air bag initiators. The issue reportedly affects the side curtain air bags of the recalled vehicle models. In case of collision, the side air bag curtain could potentially fail to deploy.

Vehicle owners will be notified by the company beginning Feb. 27 to bring in their recalled vehicles to their local dealer for a free inspection and replacement of the faulty airbags if necessary.
