Petrus Feed and Seed Recalls 21% Dog Food

Posted on January 4, 2012

According to news sources, a recall has been issued for the 21% Protein Dog Food, after it was reportedly manufactured with corn at a Cargill’s facility, resulting in unacceptably high levels of Aflatoxin.

The company, Petrus Feed and Seed Stores Inc., has issued the voluntary recall after it found high levels of a naturally occurring mold by-product called Aflatoxin in the product due to it being manufactured with corn. The recalled 40 lb. packages have lot numbers 4K1011 through 4K1335.

There have been no adverse health effects reported to date.

Consumers with the product should take it away from pets immediately and return the product to the place of purchase to receive a full refund. For additional questions, consumers may contact the company at 318-443-2259.
